Analysing video using Goodwins terms
Group 10 music video 2009 - 2010
Good use of editing that matches with the genre and lyrics i.e split screen when the word "path" was mentioned.
Variety of shots and editing techniques, e.g. Fade out and in, split screen, lose ups, mid shots, colour filters.
Good lipsyning, serious faces (Good acting).
Mise-en-scene sells the genre and the style of song. Props such as the guitar 'sell the artist'.
Choice of location matching the mood of the song.
Has a theme that is followed out throughout.
Narrative is meaningful and on point with the pace of the track.
Sold the artist, showing him singing and playing the guitar.
The indie genre usually is set out to create and individual look, not usualy containing intertextuality.
